Offline Purchasing
If you would like to purchase an image without using our secure online payment system (powered by WorldPay, a market leader in online purchasing), please contact us at contact@moochimages.com to arrange an alternative method that suits you.
Categories
All images available on Mooch are categorised in the left hand navigation. Choose from continents, countries and locations to find all the images available for a certain place. Random images will appear on the right until your chosen category is specific enough to contain a manageable number of images (such as Paris). Once clicked this will bring up a thumbnail page for this category.
Image searching
To search for an image, enter the search terms into the search box an click "go". Mooch will then scour its database of keywords and descriptions for matches. By default the search will find those images which match ALL words entered. For more control, try the advanced search.
Advanced Search
Similar to the normal search, with the added functionality of being able to search for; ALL or ANY of the words entered, just Royalty Free or Rights Managed, portrait or landscape. Simply enter your criteria, select/deselect any of the detailed options, then click "go".
Keywords
All images have a description (caption) and a detailed collection of keywords. The keywords cover the content of the image, the location etc. Searching will check these fields for positive matches.
Search Results
Images that match your search criteria will be displayed as a Thumbnail page.
Icons
 Adds an image to your lightbox, or if you are in your lightbox page will remove it.
 Adds an image to your basket, or if you are in your basket page will remove it.
 Links to the Image Information page, which imcludes a larger view of the image.
 Links to the price calculator for that image.
Thumbnail pages
The default number of images displayed per thumbnail page is 24, but depending on the number you choose in 'Images per page:', pages can show 6, 12, 24, 48 or 96 thumbnails.
If your search or chosen category yields multiple pages of images, you'll find page numbers at the top and bottom of each page that indicate which page you're on and links to subsequent pages. Use the "next page" or "previous page" to move through the results page by page. If there are more than 10 pages of results, three arrows will appear to allow you to move to the next or previous 10 pages.
Under each thumbnail is further information about the image; the image reference, the license type and icons linking to further information. Clicking a thumbnail, the "i" icon or the "zoom" icon will take you to information about the image.
Once registered or signed in there will also be icons for "Add to Lightbox" and "Add to Order" for each thumbnail, click the icons to add the image to your lightbox or basket respectively.
Image Information page
This page contains a larger view of the image and its description. Once registered or signed in there will also be icons for "Add to Lightbox" and "Add to Order", click the icons to add the image to your lightbox or basket respectively.
The page also details the image's reference, license type, releases, photographer and available dimensions. It also lists the keywords specific to the image, click any to search all of Mooch for that word.
Removing watermarks
To remove watermarks from images, you will need to register with Mooch. Once registered an email will be sent with a link to deactivate watermarks allowing an unhindered view of the comps.
Registering
Registering with Mooch is simple, begin by clicking the register button on the main left hand navigation. On the subsequent page choose a password, enter your details and click "register". Once registered you will be able to use your lightbox and basket, and view your personal page. You will automatically be logged in and receive an email allowing you to deactivate the watermarks on the site.
Logging in
Click "log in" on the main left hand navigation, then simply enter your email and password and click "log in".
Using your lightbox
You will need to be registered and logged in to use your lightbox. To add an image to your lightbox, click the "Add to lightbox" icon under any thumbnail or image. To view your lightbox click "lightbox" on the main left hand navigation. When in your lightbox page, clicking the lightbox icon under any thumbnail will remove it from your lightbox. An image can only exist once in your lightbox.
Using your basket
You will need to be registered and logged in to use your basket. To add an image to your basket, click the "Add to basket" icon under any thumbnail or image. To view your basket click "basket" on the main left hand navigation. When in your basket page, clicking the basket icon under any thumbnail will remove it from your basket. An image can only exist once in your basket. If you wish to purchase a rights managed image for more than one use you will need to purchase it for the first use (your basket will then clear automatically) and you are then free to purchase it again for another use.
About Royalty Free
The Royalty Free license grants you non-exclusive use of the image you select for a one-time flat fee. The Royalty Free license allows you to alter an image and create unique works of your own. Royalty Free pricing is based on image size and resolution.
About Rights Managed
Rights Managed images are bought for one time use, with a price based on how the image is to be used. Some of the contributing factors include intended print run, intended use, reproduction size, and distribution. To check the price of an image, first add it to you basket, then proceed to your basket page where you can use the price calculator to calculate the relevant price for your needs. Images can be removed from your basket at any time.
Images sizes and download sizes.
Images are available at various resolutions an in both uncompressed .tif and highest quality .jpg format. The resolutions and image types available are listed individually for each image on the image information page.
Pricing images
Royalty Free images:
Select the desired resolution, with associated price, and click "accept". You will be taken to your basket page where the price for the image will be shown.
Rights Managed images:
Complete all the fields to specify the usage for the image, then click "get price". You will then be given a refresher of the options you selected (and any automatic amendments) and the option to accept the price or edit the usage. Clicking accept at this point is not binding (you can edit the usage at any point) but will take you back to your basket page. If you are unsure of which selection to make, or none of the options match your desired usage, please contact us at contact@moochimages.com and we will be happy to explain which selection to make.
Ordering
Once all the images in you basket are priced, you will be able to proceed to the checkout. You will receive a reminder of all the images and the selected usages (with the option to edit the usage). To remove an image this point, return to your basket (the link is at the top of the page) and then click the "remove from basket" icon for the unwanted image.
If all the images in your basket are correct and you wish to proceed, click the confirmation buton at the bottom of the page. This will take you to the WorldPay payment page where you can enter your payment details. You can then purchase the images. Once purchased the images will appear in you personal page where you can download them.
Payment Options
Payment is completed through Worldpay - the market leader in Internet payment systems. Using their secure servers you can pay using Visa, Visa Purchasing, Delta, Visa Electron, Mastercard, JCB, Switch or Solo cards.
Downloading
Once an image is purchased it will appear in your personal page. It will show the usage selected when purchased and links to download the hi res versions.
ABOUT IMAGE LICENSING
All images for purchase from the Mooch collections are licensed. Images may have either traditional or Royalty Free licensing. Image licenses are very important, and serve to protect the rights of all parties: the seller or distributor of the images, those who purchase and use images; those who own, create, or produce images; and even those whose likenesses are included in the images. The type of licensing is one factor that impacts image pricing. Mooch understands that image licensing is a complex process. If you have more questions about image licensing, please contact us.
Rights Managed
When you use rights managed content, the usage rights are defined and negotiated for your specific project needs. You have access to millions of single images, many of them unique. The license you have defines how many times the image can be used and in what way. This means that we can monitor use of our images and know "where the images have been".
Pricing for Rights Managed
Pricing for rights managed images varies by how you plan to use them. Factors that affect price include usage, publication size, image size, print run, placement, duration, territories, industry, and whether you want to purchase exclusive rights (please contact us if this is the case).
You can calculate the price using the online calculator found on the "price image" links under each image when logged in.
Royalty Free Licensing
